Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Stormline Weather works without one. Signing in (Sign in with Apple on iPhone and iPad, Google on Android) is optional and lets you sync your settings and saved places across devices. AI weather summaries need a signed-in account.

The app can't find my location. What can I do?

Check that location is allowed for Stormline Weather in your device settings. You can also search for a place and save it, and the app will show the forecast for that place without using your location.

How do I turn on lightning alerts?

Turn on Lightning Alerts in the app and allow notifications when your device asks. The app needs at least one saved place to alert you about. You can also set the alert radius. You can turn alerts off at any time, which also removes your device's lightning registration.

What is "Follow my location" for lightning alerts?

It is optional. On iPhone and iPad it needs the "Always" location setting; on Android it needs the separate background location permission. It lets lightning alerts follow you while the app is closed. Your position is reduced to roughly 5 km before it is registered. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I manage or cancel Stormline Weather Pro?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Open Apple subscriptions to manage or cancel. In the app you can also use Restore Purchases if you subscribed before and the app doesn't show it.

How do I delete my account?

On iPhone and iPad, open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. If you signed in with Google on Android, use northbaseworks.com/stormline/delete-account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

Where does the weather data come from?

Forecasts come from Apple Weather, radar from Environment and Climate Change Canada (with NOAA NEXRAD for the United States), alerts from the US National Weather Service and Environment and Climate Change Canada, and lightning from NOAA's GOES-19 Geostationary Lightning Mapper. See the Terms of Use for the full attributions.

Can I rely on Stormline Weather for safety decisions?

No. Forecasts, radar, lightning information and alerts can be delayed or wrong. Follow official warnings from your local weather and emergency authorities. See the Terms of Use.
